Celebrating the future of Design: success of the “Colors Habits” Event on 10 July in Milan
On July 10, 2024, at La Boutique in Milan, the unprecedented event and talk titled “Colors Habits – Do we inhabit colours or do they inhabit us?” was held. CAP Arreghini, one of the leaders in the colour market for over 70 years, has been the Main Sponsor of this innovative initiative dedicated to the blend of colour and light in interior design and architecture.
Colors Habits: Do We Inhabit Colors or Do They Inhabit Us?
The talk, titled “Colors Habits – Do we inhabit colours or do they inhabit us?”, offered an engaging reflection on the role that colours and light play in our daily lives and in our spaces. This exclusive event, reserved for professionals in the hospitality, real estate, and design sectors, explored the subtle chromatic connection between the designer’s style, project elements, and the people who experience them.
Through a series of inspiring presentations, industry experts shared their visions and stories, exploring the intersection of design, art, architecture, and light. Colour emerged as a transversal element capable of influencing every aspect of interior design, from residential to hospitality, creating unique and personalised atmospheres in every space.
Key Speakers of the Talk
The speakers, all prominent figures in architecture and lighting design, were expertly moderated by Silvia Criscione, a well-known lifestyle and colour consultant, who invited the audience to explore how colours can transform our daily living. Giovanni Franceschelli, CEO and Founder of Rizoma Architetture, specialising in hospitality design, delved into creating welcoming and memorable atmospheres in hospitality interiors through the use of colours. Ana Maria Reque Sotelo, a Peruvian artist, shared her vision of colour through art, demonstrating how shades can convey deep emotions and meanings, transforming space into a sensory experience. Following this, Gian Paolo Venier, Partner at OTTO Studio, illustrated through his experience in interior design how creating unique and personalised pieces can turn design into a livable artwork, with colour as a fundamental element. Finally, Silvio De Ponte Conti | De Ponte Studio Architects, an expert in lighting, illustrated how light and colour are inseparably linked and how lighting can enhance the chromatic qualities of environments, creating unique and dynamic atmospheres.
The talk was curated by Marisa Corso, CEO of MC International, with the participation of NEWH Milan (The Hospitality Network) and Arte Laguna Prize.
The networking aperitif and dialogue on Light and Colour
Following the talk, the event continued with a networking aperitif, providing an opportunity to discuss emerging ideas, make new connections, and forge meaningful relationships. The atmosphere at La Boutique fosters idea exchange and sharing experiences. The evening was a perfect occasion to celebrate design, featuring high-level presentations and networking moments among colleagues and enthusiasts in the industry. Guests had the chance to interact directly with speakers and discover the latest trends in colour and design.
